Old Kempton Distillery, located in the historic Dysart House in Kempton, Tasmania, has been creating a variety of spirits since November 2015, all made using 100% Tasmanian ingredients. The distillery offers fully guided tours, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the distillation process and a visit to the bond store, where maturing whisky and barrels of all shapes and sizes can be found.
The tour, which is unique and offers an amazing opportunity to see how a distillery runs on a day-to-day basis, concludes with a guided tasting of a variety of Old Kempton Distillery products. Visitors can taste a range of spirits, including whiskey, rum, gin, vodka, tequila, bourbon, brandy, and cocktails.
Following the tour, visitors can enjoy lunch in the stunning Cask Lounge, located in the grand coaching inn that is the Old Kempton cellar door. The lounge is home to the distillery's cask wall and botanic library, and offers a range of lunch options, including local Tasmanian produce antipasto platters, Devonshire tea, and daily specials.
